The download for Overlord on GarageGames will be updated to 2.2.2 to address a rare security issue sometime today. And since I am taking the time to mention it, I thought I

Unfortunately, yes, development has ceased, as I just don't have the time or the energy to do this in my spare time anymore.

Do you think you will be able to release the updates you have before you ran out of time -- like the "Issues page", Reminders and Personal Notes? I am sure we (the community) will not mind it being unsupported.

Good luck to you!

Rather than just totaly dumping it to the trash why not GPL it so others can legaly finish and improve what you left off.

I will add my voice to this request.  Of course, there is the possibility that this will simply go underground, if it has not already done so.  The saddest thing of all is the continuing reputation hit on the rather shady middle men in indy market (no reflection on the developers intended).  GG and the lawyers need to get the hell out of the way of life cycle events.

I hope it works out well for us all.  Intractable is such an ugly position.  Particularly for those of us that invested in the model.

Be well.  If you can not fully release, perhaps you will consider alternatives?

The ideal answer is yes, GPL, CopyLeft, or something similiar....  however, negotiation begins with not saying no... Smiley

Rich

I second that motion.  I invested in this project, so if development has ceased, give us the GPL and let us develop it as a community.

So what's the answer, Jacob?  Are you gonna let all of us down or give us a license?

I too would like to see this system get further development. We have payed for it ... and if you don't have the time to develop it your self, let other people that have the time take over ... ether via a transfer/sell of the owner rights .... or convert it in to a GPL so that we can pick up and move it forward as a community.

At least have the decency to stop selling it! Or maybe a warning to those new people that its a dead project and wont be updated.
